Crack Down My Spine

2018 E.R. Smith

Crack down my spine

Rebuild, redesign, replenish

Universe renew the sinew

Refabricate all connection align

Blood of God pour, nourish

Ancestors witness venue

Show the rocky path divine

Shine the edges, fear banish

For the faithful a world anew

Whether hours in a day supply pleasure or pain

guard your mien

Some take pleasure in posted pain and follow,

sometimes with a bottle

Weather the climate quakes under  feet

practice deceit

At times,  it’s best to keep ones’ own counsel

silence the mouthful

Whether the weather of  personal space

traps one in a nasty place,

or ones personal weather is quite Kardashian

careful who’s let in

Need not brag, boast, divulge

groupies only gossip indulge

It’s best one shelter in; deal or praise

Whether one’s climate’s  cool,  or weathering  pain

                                                                         Hand jive

took patty cake to the box outside,

bones focused on agreed precision

Kick, open, side to side,

Hand jive

Eye contact key to  artistry,

Rhyme breathes rhythm alive with limbs

A living game of poetry,

Hand jive

rhythmic playtime with recess friends,

audience judges, waiting next

miss a beat, begin again.
